Teacher Gifts & A Darling Doily Valentine

Wooo-eeee! It’s Day 3 of Love Week!

As promised, I have a quick and easy idea for a teacher gift that you can give for any holiday, really. Just change up the colors and theme and you can use it for anything! I’ve also included an idea for an easy doily valentine — I used mine to decorate the gift bag that I put the teacher gift in!

For the teacher gift I made these cute little personalized glass jars for Logan’s teachers. I found the jars themselves at Michaels – my go to craft stop since it’s the closest crafty supply store in my area. I grabbed a Sharpie Paint pen and some window decals and went to work… seriously, it couldn’t be any easier.

I went with window decals instead of stickers because they are REMOVABLE! What if his teachers don’t care for the super sweet pink and red hearts? I wouldn’t want them to be stuck with them…so the decals are perfect. And again – switch them out for any holiday or theme, you can find them in the stores (even the grocery) year round.

I drew a little heart and put the teacher’s name on the front, and stuck the decals on all sides of the jars.

Logan has two teachers for his class so I made two jars…

Now for the filling — a little cellophane and some Hershey Kisses, of course!

Aren’t they cute?

Now for the wrapping…I got some plain red kraft paper bags to put the jars in, but I wanted to dress them up on the outside, so I decided to make a Valentine for each teacher’s bag.

This is an easy way to make a Valentine using a paper doily (you know I love my doilies!)

I cut the sparkly scrapbook paper into a heart to fit inside the border of the doily, and use scrapbook sticky tape to stick them together. I then cut a small rectangle out of plain white cardstock and stamped it with my XOXO stamp…

…and wrote a little love note to Logan’s teachers. Kisses since the jars are filled with kisses… get it? 🙂

I used my sticky dots to stick the cardstock to the hearts and the hearts to the bags… the sticky dots give it that great 3D effect.

Now for some over-the-top fabulousness — TISSUE!

Two Hearts are better than One!

Like I said – pretty simple, and a great idea to use year round. Those Sharpie Paint pens are great – I see more projects in the future with those!

Hope you enjoyed this idea – tomorrow I will reveal my mantle. I didn’t go over the top, but it’s festive and required little effort, which I’m sure everyone can appreciate!

XOXO, D
