Valentine, I'm Stuck on You Cards

Valentine, I’m Stuck on You

February. Love Month. Valentine, I'm Stuck on You Cards

You know I love it!

I couldn’t wait to get started on this year’s Valentines for the boys, but I wanted to make it easy and do something personal that I know everyone would love.

I went with my favorite custom shop, Zazzle, to design and print these adorable business card-sized Valentines with stickers featuring my boys! Bonus: They can help me put them together so they can tell all their little friends that they helped make them.

Everyone loves stickers…. and my boys sure do love seeing themselves on a sticker. Valentine, I'm Stuck on You Cards

This is a perfect project if you have multiple kids that you need to shell out Valentine’s for, because you’re ordering a whole box of business cards. I get all my business cards through Zazzle – the quality is great and it’s such a great value!

With my two boys and their classes and friends, we will use most of the box. If you don’t need THAT many cards, consider going in together with another mom — that’s an even better deal and you could have a valentine-making party! Valentine, I'm Stuck on You Cards

The stickers are great – I opted for the heart-shaped stickers, since it is Valentine’s day, but you can get them in circles as well. You could also use regular store-bought stickers, but I think the personal touch makes these cards wayyy more cute and fun! Valentine, I'm Stuck on You Cards

The only supplies you’ll need are some kind of adhesive, such as scrapbooking tape or a tape runner or sticky dots. I had this Scotch double-side tape on hand and it did the trick just fine. Valentine, I'm Stuck on You Cards

I cut out my stickers — you can cut squares or make the effort to cut out around the heart (I did NOT have the patience for that on this day…). Valentine, I'm Stuck on You Cards

My cutie.Valentine, I'm Stuck on You Cards

Place the adhesive on the back of the sticker and then put the sticker on the card where it says “Place Sticker Here” (convenient, right?). Valentine, I'm Stuck on You Cards

Then just have your little one sign his or her name, or do it for them, and you have a super cute Valentine with a sticker that their friends can play with. Valentine, I'm Stuck on You Cards

On The Farm: Cow Themed 1st Birthday Party

On the Farm: Cow Themed 1st Birthday Party

The little man recently turned a year old (!!!), so of course, we had to celebrate. Always itching for an opportunity to design and be crafty, I dove in head first and let everything else go while I was in party planning mode. I then remembered that I have a blog and that I should probably blog about it, so I had to remember to take good pictures, too! #bloggerproblems

Since I did actually think ahead this time, almost everything you see in this post is available either for purchase or as a free printable (yay!). You can find a list of products and links to their source at the bottom of this post! On the Farm: Cow BirthdayI chose a farm theme for Vaughn – his Grandpa is a strawberry farmer, and Vaughn seems to have an affinity for one of his cow toys, so I thought it would be a really cute party and super fun to plan for if we held it at Grandma & Grandpa’s house.

On the Farm: Cow Party - First Birthday

It all started with the invites. I started playing with the cow idea and drew up this cutie. The whole theme unfolded from there with the red font and cow splotches all over the place. 🙂

I loved the tag shaped invite option on Zazzle, so I used that as my canvas, and opted for the natural colored paper instead of white. Much more farm-y, don’t you think?

On the Farm: Cow Party Invite

The back side of the invite has all the details for the party.

invites

When you purchase the invites, they come with plain-jane envelopes. I considered making some cute labels or something, but why go through all that effort when I can design custom envelopes! Right?

On the Farm: Cow Party Envelopes

They even have cow splotches on the inside. Hello Cuteness!

On the Farm: Cow Invite Envelopes

Once I dropped the invites in the mail I started working on all of the fun for the big day. Utilizing Zazzle’s crazy huge selection of customizable goodies, I started adding the party’s mascot to favor boxes, favor tags, paper plates, and a onesie for the birthday boy!

On the Farm: Cow Birthday Favor Boxes

How cute are these little guys?

I really love the tags, and they come with the twine!

So my next mission was to figure out what to put in these little boxes for the kiddos that were coming to the party. Amazon to the rescue! Farm themed rubber duckies….

I wanted a banner or bunting with Vaughn’s name on it, and decided to just make my own printable bunting, punch some holes in the triangles and string some twine through.

On the Farm: Cow Party BannerWhile I was at it, I made a couple of flags for cake toppers, and some water bottle labels (seriously, I can’t stop once I’m on a roll). All of these are available to print below!

I couldn’t wait for the big day!

On the Farm: Cow Party Display

This display was inside, and Grandma and Grandpa’s house tends to be pretty dark so it was very hard to take decent pictures. The close-ups are better!

On the Farm: Cow Party - Cow CakeGood old Albertsons did an amazing job yet again with the cake! I used bamboo skewers for the cake topper flags (taped them on). I purchased a package of the red bandanas on Amazon to use for decoration and handed them out to the kids as well.

On the Farm: Cow Party - Cow Smash CakeVaughn got his own cake to dive into. And he totally did!

On the Farm: Cow Party - Water BottlesThe printed water bottle labels – they fit on both the mini and regular size Arrowhead water bottles.

On the Farm: Cow Party - Cake PlateseCake Plates!

On the Farm: Cow Party - Milk BottlesI found these milk bottles at Target in the party section, and filled them with jelly bellies (french vanilla and chocolate pudding to be exact).

On the Farm: Cow Party - Favor BoxesMilk BottlesThe favor boxes, all packaged up and ready to go!

On the Farm: Cow Party - Name BannerThe printable name banner with red and white twine. The secondary banner is from Target!

On the Farm: Cow Party - HighChair BannerI found this great chalkboard banner at Target too, along with some chalkboard pens (my new favorite). I wrote the letters and used two types of twine to string through the banner and tape on to the highchair. The highchair is very special – it’s an antique my Mom purchased years ago, and every grandchild has spent ample time in it during their baby days. Vaughn is probably the last one. Certainly from me. LOL

On the Farm: Cow Party Birthday BoyMe and the Birthday Boy! Notice his onesie? 🙂

On the Farm: Cow Party Grandpa’s wagon made a great place to put the presents!

On the Farm: Cow Party Veggies first, then Cake!

On the Farm: Cow Party - Smash CakeYep. I think he likes it.

On the Farm: Cow Party Do you see the remote control in his hand? He wouldn’t put it down… and since it was his birthday, I wasn’t about to take it away from him. Sorry Mom. 🙂

Candy Free Easter Eggs

Candy Free Easter Eggs – Last Minute!

(Woo Hoo for NEW Content!)

candy free easter eggs

Soooo… did you forget about your child’s Easter Egg hunt at school? Because I sure did. Woops.

But Fear not, my Stickelberry friends, I am here to save the day with a quick and easy last minute solution. There’s still time with Prime! In about 5 minutes I found everything, ordered it and had it shipped to my front door in less than 2 days. Boom.

My dear, dear friend, Amazon Prime helped me with the FREE two day shipping part. In our house, the nominal fee is SO WORTH IT. If you shop online regularly like we do (because, you know, kids…) you know the value of free shipping, and how pleasant and convenient it is to receive things quickly. Not to mention, we often find the best deal and value on Amazon as well… so if you haven’t tried Prime, do it! Free 30 Day trial right here, baby! Order your heart out – I get my baby formula, many of my beauty products, gifts for the kids that are hard to find, even clothes and shoes from Amazon. It’s rad. And they offer all kinds of streaming — music, movies, tv shows, etc.

Candy Free Easter EggsAnyway enough about them – let’s get to the eggs, already.

I wanted to be the super cool mom and send Logan to school with some really awesome eggs, like these cool silly putty eggs, or these play dough eggs… but I need 24 eggs, and both would have been a little over my budget this time around. Maybe next year?

What I do know is this: kids love stamps. They LOVE stamps. Everyday when I pick up Logan at school there is a lineup at the front desk where the ever-so-lovely Ms Cherine lets the kids do stamps and stickers before they leave. I think it’s Logan’s favorite part of the day!

Last year we did bubbles and stickers, so this year we are totally doing stamps and stickers!

Here it is people:

Stickers for the Eggs

I know the stickers aren’t necessary, and that any child would be stoked to get just the stamp, but how cute are these little guys? And so handy to come on a roll, all easy to cut up and stuff?

So, I hope I helped you out or at least gave you an idea of where you can find some GREAT Easter Egg fillers!

*Yep, I’m an Amazon Affiliate, and proud of it! I order from Amazon weekly and it has been a lifesaver for this tired and exhausted Mama!

Toddler Easter Candy Free

Candy Free Easter Basket, Eggs & A Gift Idea for Teacher!

Toddler Easter Candy Free

Candy Free Thomas the Train Easter Basket

Toddler Easter

This guy LOVES Thomas. It’s all Thomas the Train, all the time. Sadly, I know all of the character names, all of the songs, and every movie in existence right along with him. Such is the life of a toddler mom! So, when it came time to put his Easter basket together, I HAD to put some Thomas goodies in there. The Easter Bunny couldn’t mess that up, right? So using my super-sleuth shopping skills I found a plethora of Thomas goodies at Target to fill his Easter Basket with.

We live by the beach and spend many days there throughout the year so the trunks, rash guard and sunglasses were a must.  Thomas the Train Easter Basket

I realize the Cars socks from the One Spot don’t exactly fit with the theme, BUT the kid has another, yet slightly less, obsession with McQueen. Thomas the Train Easter BasketSome movies, a book and some containers filled with stickers to finish it up. I just shoved it all in a big yellow bucket with some tissue paper. Easy Peasy. Thomas the Train Easter Basket

Yeah, he totally rocked the Thomas gear. I wonder what he will be into next year? All Thomas All the Time

Candy Free Eggs

Logan’s school has a no-candy policy for their Easter Eggs so I decided on bubbles and stickers. What toddler doesn’t love bubbles and stickers?! I found this cool set of eggs with a handy-dandy giant carrying egg at Target, along with the bubbles and the pad of stickers. Candy Free Easter Eggs

I cut up all the stickers – – make sure you’re comfy, this takes a while.Candy Free Easter Eggs

And we’re ready to go!Candy Free Easter Eggs

What are some other fun little candy-free things to pack into these eggs? Some of the things Logan got from his friends: Temporary tattoos, shaped crayons, and those parachute men!

Personalized Easter Gift for Teachers

Target always has the greatest things in the One Spot (the dollar bins!). I found these adorable tin baskets and post-it notes and thought they would make really cute gifts for the teachers at Logan’s school. Personalized Easter Gift for TeacherOf course, I added some chocolate and a Starbucks gift card… had to make it worth their while! I wrote their names using a Sharpie paint pen, and added a cute little tag to make it complete. Personalized Easter Gift for Teacher

What are some other good gifts for teachers? Share your ideas! Something like this can really be gifted at any time — like teacher appreciation, valentine’s day, end of school year, christmas, etc.

Sticker Valentines — Love Week 2014

It’s LOVE WEEK! The week of Valentine’s Day… the week where everything is red and pink and white and purple and smothered in hearts. I freakin’ love it! I know there are people out there who think of Valentine’s Day and go “UGH” – but I am SO not one of those people. I am the person that all of the marketing folk are trying to target with their heart-laden materials… I swoon over the heart shaped candies and chocolate peanut butter hearts and of course, the heart shaped doilies. I just love Love Week.

To celebrate the first day of Love Week, I made Logan’s valentines for his class of 2 and 3 year olds. Since he’s only 2, he doesn’t much care about the valentines but I know he will love putting them in their little cubbies (he’s all about sorting), and since he loves stickers (any kind of sticky thing, really), I thought gifting stickers to his friends would be cute. The school has a low sugar policy so I wasn’t about to give them sugar bombs…I’m sure his teachers would LOVE that though.  🙂

I found these cute stickers at Target – they came with two sets of stickers per pack, so I bought two so that I could give each classmate 4 sheets of stickers.

Cute Stickers!

Cute Stickers!

I found large foam hearts at Michaels (along with all of my other supplies), and wanted to use those. At first I thought about stapling the corner of the sticker sheets to the foam, but that wouldn’t be very cute, right? I dug around through my stash of craft supplies and found some small brown paper bags leftover from Christmas (you can get them at any craft store, or use any other kind of baggie or small envelope) – I had some plain ones and some with hearts all over them – perfect!

Perfect lil' baggies

Perfect lil’ baggies

SO I decided to put the stickers in the bags, fold them like an envelope, and seal them with some sparkly foam stickers.

Pretty lil’ package

The plain brown baggies needed some sprucing up, so I added a stamp at the bottom!

XOXO

Now, I could have stopped there… those are darn cute little valentines. But I wanted them to be big and fabulous! I decided to use some sticky dots to stick the baggies to the large foam hearts I purchased…

… and centered the baggies on the foam hearts.

Bigger is Better?

For the last part, I printed out the tag using Word and cut it with some jagged edged paper cutting scissors. I then used scrapbook adhesive to glue the tag to the valentine, and added an extra foam heart sticker for good measure.

Not bad for a quick trip to Michaels and an hour of naptime fun, right?

Stay tuned this week for more Love Week Fun! I have a printable in the works, I need to finish my mantle, and I have some gifts for Logan’s teachers that are super easy to put together.

Love & Hugs!
